‘The future of the Anglican Parish of St George’s is in peril’

A historic church in St George has hit a “financial crisis point”, it was revealed yesterday. Soup kitchen to resume in the Old Town next month

St Peter’s ramps up disabled access

A ramp made of Bermuda cedar has been installed at a historic church to make life easier for disabled people. The Friends of St Peter’s Church, in St George, said the ramp to the vestry was opened last Sunday. The final casualty of the last US/UK war commemorated

The last casualty of a 19th century war between the United Kingdom and the United States was remembered today. A ceremony to commemorate Midshipman Richard Dale of the US Navy was held at St Peter’s Church, St George, where the young officer, aged 20 when he died in the Olde Towne, is buried. Church improves access to historic graveyard

Access to a historic black cemetery in the Town of St George has been improved as part of a collaborative effort between multiple organisations. Parliament celebrates 400-year milestone

Today is an historic milestone — the 400th anniversary of the island's Parliament, which first convened at St Peter's Church in St George. A re-creation of the inaugural session under the Governor, Nathaniel Butler, which came with a daylong sermon and 15 Acts passed, had to be called off because of Covid-19.
