WEDDINGS, BLESSINGS AND RENEWAL OF VOWS
A wedding is one life’s most significant mile-stones and will be remembered for the rest of your life. It is the occasion of a public declaration of love and commitment, of celebration and festivity, but also of solemn contemplation and reflection on commitment, faithfulness and loyalty.
The most popular wedding months are April, May and June when the weather is generally very pleasant in Bermuda.   It can be very hot and humid in August and September; the possibility of rain is greater and there is no air-conditioning in St Peter’s.   Traditionally, weddings are not performed during Lent – the 6 weeks before Easter, or Advent – the 4 weeks before Christmas.
If you are interested in being married in St Peter’s, Their Majesties Chappell, or in the unique setting of the Unfinished Church, please call the office on (441) 297 2459 or Email wedding@stpeters.bm.

BAPTISMS
We are delighted to welcome both children and adults to the fellowship of the Church of Christ, the people of God, by the Sacrament of Holy Baptism.
Baptism is a ‘sacrament’ (a holy rite which conveys God’s grace and blessing) whereby a person is received as a member of God’s family. For this reason we take baptism seriously and a special occasion for you and your family. Baptism is the only requirement for membership in the Church of Christ.
In baptism, the priest pours water from the Christening Bowl over the head of the person being baptized, in the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  This symbolizes being made clean from sin and given a fresh start as a child of God. The sign of the cross is marked on the forehead, the invisible but indelible mark of union with Christ.

CONFIRMATIONS
Confirmation marks the point in the Christian journey where those who have been baptized make a firm commitment to live as a follower of Christ. This affirmation is confirmed through the laying on of hands by the Bishop and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Confirmands renew for themselves the promises made for them at their baptism by their parents and godparents and make a public declaration of their faith.
There is generally a course of instruction leading up to the confirmation, which is performed by the Bishop of Bermuda. If you would like to pursue the possibility of confirmation, please contact the parish priest directly on (441) 297 2459 or Email rector@stpeters.bm.

FUNERALS
When a loved one dies, please contact the parish priest on (441) 297 2459 or Email rector@stpeters.bm as soon as possible so that pastoral care can be provided to the family and details of the funeral can be discussed.   Arrangements for the funeral and interment are usually handled by a Funeral Director in consultation with the parish priest.
MEMORIAL SERVICES
A memorial service may be held when the remains of the deceased, for whatever reason, are not present at the service. There is usually no requirement for the involvement of a Funeral Director.   To arrange a memorial service, please contact the parish priest on (441) 297 2459 or Email rector@stpeters.bm
